I was super excited when Lorie asked me to do Daniel’s & her portraits to celebrate four years of marriage together, and was especially super-duper excited when she said that they would be making the trip out to Seattle (my new hometown) for their session! We started off on Ballard Avenue, then GPS-located Gasworks Park — my very first trip there, EVER — and then finished off with some nom-noms at Hi-Life, which happens to be one of my new favorite restaurants here in Ballard. Although, I’m not sure how I’m supposed to choose… there are just so darn many, and boy do I love good food!
Okay, away from the food, and back to the lovely pair… I love that Daniel & Lorie are an already married couple, as I do a lot of engagement sessions & of course weddings; which, you know, are so great in their own right, but there is something so wonderful about a couple who have lived and loved and grown and known each other for several years, who adore each other enough to still want to be in the same frame together (like these lovebirds, from a previous post!). We had tons of fun, so many good laughs, and a lot of hugs & kisses (just between those two, duh), and I’m pretty sure that this is what life is like for Daniel & Lorie, even when not in front of the camera.
Happy Anniversary, you two…
Well you are the one, the one that lies close to me
Whispers hello I miss you quite terribly
I fell in love, in love with you suddenly
Now there’s no place else I could be but here in your arms
