Sean + Megan: Expecting! // Seattle Family Photographer

I haven’t blogged since August 31st. Ouch. You know I’ve been shooting film a lot, so originally my plan was to blog my photo sessions as I received the film in the mail, but now I’m realizing that I only send in my film after x amount of used film I have, so it’s possible that I don’t receive film from one shoot or another until three or four weeks later!

So. I’m going to just go ahead and start blogging my photo sessions again, and figure out the film thing later!

This is Sean & Megan, who are expecting their first child in October. They are such a sweet couple; we had never met before, and she wanted to do a more intimate maternity session but wasn’t sure about having the portraits done at their house, so they agreed to meet at my (old) house in Bremerton, that is empty post-move. Well, apparently I didn’t remember how messy my house was, and I was so embarrassed when we got there! oops! But they were super gracious, and looked beyond the mess and helped me see beyond the mess also, so that we could relax and concentrate on making portraits of Megan’s beautiful baby belly and of their love for each other as partners and as expecting parents.

They are having a baby girl and haven’t decided on a name yet, but have already started calling her by her given nickname, Ipo (Kuuipo), which is Hawaiian for sweetheart. melt my heart. They wanted a photograph of Megan’s necklace & Sean’s bracelet made especially to tell of their love for little Ipo, and they also wanted a photograph of Megan, Ipo, and some headphones. I’m assuming it’s because they love music *that much* but I didn’t ask; I was a little hesitant as I’m not huge on props, but I actually thought it turned out pretty great. So kudos to my friends who encourage me to try new things!

Congratulations, you two! I can’t wait to meet your little Ipo. Oh, and thank you, Sean & Megan, for allowing me to donate a portion of your session to Get Hitched Give Hope… what goes around comes around!
