When Janna told me to meet her at the playground at Ravenna Park, I was like “YES!” Well, it turns out she just wanted to meet there, not play there. oh. But being the pushy photographer with a vision that I am, I insisted that we played a little, and they obliged. I’m so happy they did! There’s something about swinging that makes everyone happy; honestly, can you not smile while on the swings? We also walked around the park, one of the many inner-city hidden gems of Seattle that I love. And we played with their dog Ruby, who was super pleased with herself when she received salmon snacks for being good… which goes to show that bribery goes a long way, even with our furchildren. (did i make up that word, i think not.)
Anyway, the engagement session was more of a get-to-know-you meeting with a few photos thrown in for good measure, as I had never actually met Zan before, and not to mention that their wedding is tomorrow. Yes, tomorrow. I mean, this shoot was a few weeks ago, but I was waiting for the film, which took longer than I had planned which may or may not be because I was waiting on finishing up some other rolls before I sent it out. who knows? So the film came yesterday, which means that I got to “spend some time with them” today for just a little bit as I get ready for their grand wedding tomorrow; which, quite frankly, is such a great way to prepare for a wedding. Love it.
Tomorrow. Zan & Janna. San Juan Island. Might be sunny, might be rainy; you two are awesome, and either way, I can’t wait.
