Okay, so he’s not a baby anymore! Luke’s mom called me, ashamed that he is already 17 months old and she had yet to have portraits made of him. I kind of chuckled to myself, thinking about all the photos that I do have of my own child that are IN BOXES. Okay! How embarrassing. But hey, like I told her, life happens. Life. Of course it’s easy to complain about being caught up in all the day-to-day nuances of life, but the truth of the matter is… if you are a parent, you are busy raising your child to be an outstanding human being. You are busy loving, laughing, learning, and giving. Setting up a time to reward yourself for all your efforts in child-rearing is often far, far away from your mind, or even from your reality.
But! She did set up a time to reward herself, and her husband, and her Baby Luke, and Me! I am so happy that I got to run around with this little guy, with his chubby cheeks (moms says, “from dad!”) and his can-do attitude, his sweet curiosity and his fantastic big laugh! You can tell from the first shot that I was getting a little bit of the Stranger Danger Treatment, but after about ten frames, it was play time!
