120 Love // Zeiss Ikon // Seattle Film Photographer

Michael found this outrageously cute Zeiss Ikon on etsy… it is meant to replace my Holga, which you know, I had a love/hate relationship with. For Michael, it was mostly a hate relationship; but mainly, I was kind of tired of everyone and their dog having a Holga… you can buy them at Urban Outfitters for christ’s sake! I am not known for being a conformist, or a “fadist,” as I like to call it. I might be sadistic, but never fadistic. (hardy-har… and yes, I just made that word up less than a minute ago!)  There are photographers out there who I love & respect, who rock the Holga & all it’s lovely quirkiness, but obviously it just wasn’t working for me, so I guess I had to cut my losses and move on.  I mean, for now.  As I am, admittedly, a glutton for creative punishment…

Introducing… to my lens bag and to the world… my leeeeettle zeiss.

It’s from about 1954, it folds up & fits perfectly into my purse, and it takes perfectly dreamy photos. I couldn’t be happier!

So, with a little bittersweet emotion… goodbye Holga, and hello Zeiss!

jennifer Tai - ok wow!

Kip Beelman - Need to know more about this!

Jonas Seaman - Rad.
