Spring.Poetry // Seattle iPhone Photographer

So, here it is, my last post of the week, of the month… of April, of National Poetry Month. I am sharing an iPhone photo with you, taken with my favorite app, ShakeItPhoto. It’s admittedly not the most exciting or well composed photo, but it is sunny, it is happy, and it has the two loves of my life in it. And I am sharing a poem with you, the loveliest of poems, that was sent my way from my friend Krista Welch (by my favorite poet… how did she know?)

Who Knows If The Moon’s

who knows if the moon’s
a balloon, coming out of a keen city
in the sky–filled with pretty people?
(and if you and i should

get into it, if they
should take me and take you into their balloon,
why then
we’d go up higher with all the pretty people

than houses and steeples and clouds:
go sailing
away and away sailing into a keen
city which nobody’s every visited, where

always
its
spring) and everyone’s
in love and flowers pick themselves

-e.e. cummings
