erin & nathan // the hall at fauntleroy // seattle wedding photographer

My friend & fellow photographer Dana Pleasant had me along at one of her recent weddings at the beautiful The Hall at Fauntleroy in West Seattle. Even though I absolutely love working as a second photographer on the days that I don’t have weddings, it’s always a different kind of nerve-wracking to second shoot a wedding when I’ve yet to meet the couple or even know exactly what I’m to expect. But there was nothing to worry about with Erin & Nathan’s wedding; they are such a fabulous couple, full of warmth & reserved passion… incredibly stylish and unexpectedly laid back. It was a very simple ceremony, but in its simplicity it was extremely elegant, and the sunny weather seemed to boost everyone’s mood. And they had Molly Moon’s ice cream, my friends. Molly Moon’s! I almost could’ve done an entire post with all the photos I have of so many happy faces & giddy grown ups… it was so hard to cull those down to just a choice few. Oh, the simple things in life, that make grown people feel like children again!

The couple was exquisite, the weather couldn’t have been better, their families & friends were so loving, and working with Dana is always a treat… all in all, it was truly the loveliest of weddings.

A big huge blog hug to Dana for letting me tag along all day… do yourselves a favor and check out her beautiful perspective of the wedding on her blog!

Jonas Seaman - Beautiful! I love the portraits in the light of the window!

erin h. - so lovely. i especially love the bride getting ready.

Karen - There’s so much I love about this post, and as you heard my many grunts and noises I made when we were looking at it at your place, I die a little over how fantastic these images are. What I love about your photography is how you compose each shot with a little Catherine flair.. it’s subtle but there and even though there’s so much variety in your shots, they all belong together and your images beautifully intertwine into one story. Your black and whites are full of contrast which I LOVE and that pool table shot I melt with jealousy and awe. What makes you such a great photographer is your ability to have an entire blog post of solid work that you produced second shooting that is a great compliment to Dana’s work, but a totally different point of view that these clients are just going to cry over having both you and Dana’s gorgeous images all wrapped up in one beautiful memory box they will cherish forever. You really inspire the crap out of me, Catherine, and how fortunate I feel to call you a friend in my life as well as someone I truly look up to. You swooped me up with open arms that first day we met in the Ballard market not to long ago; when we both looked at each other in the “i’ve seen your photo, i think that’s you, but i’m not sure” way.. haha. You make me so happy to have made the decision to move to Seattle. Thanks for everything and I always look forward to your next blog posts :). Seriously breathtaking work. AHHHH :-D <3Karen

shipra - Oh Catherine, so so sooo awesome. Esp. the first look series and portraits, they are so happy and I can feel their joy oozing out of these images. And an ice-cream truck? WIN!

Matt - Great work, and very nice work with the film! Looks like a fun wedding.
