If you could imagine, planning a trip to Kauai with your family & friends, and in between all the relaxing & sun-bathing & drinking & surfing & whale-watching… you decide to get married. Amongst your family & friends, under the sun, and among the turtles & whales that just happen to be hanging out nearby.
Essentially, that’s what Misty & John did… and I was lucky enough to be there to celebrate with them.
There was nothing pretentious or overly done about this wedding or their celebration… the decorations were provided by nature, and the open sky & blue ocean served as the temple they got married in. And some fun details about their wedding… her dress was a classic BCBG from Nordstrom, her flowers were handpicked & arranged by me (!!!) from the local market in the nearby old plantation town of Koloa, and one of her best friends married them, with vows written by one of their dear friends back home. Personal touches, all around… and so lovely.
A few frames from my time exploring the islands of Hawaii during this trip can be found here, and the sweetest feature can be found on my favorite wedding blog, Ever Ours.
