we are family // seattle wedding photographer

Out of this entire beautiful wedding, the photos of their family are the ones I love the most… this, my friends, is why I do what I do.

Of course I’ll be sharing the rest of this wedding later, but every time I saw these photos I either laughed or cried or both… so why keep all the goodness to myself?! My buddy Phil Chester accompanied me to this Guemes Island wedding, and he summed it up perfectly… “After I leave you guys, my family will suddenly be a disappointment!” Brian & Kaila’s wedding was a unity of cultures, religions, families & so many loved ones, and is a wedding that I revisit over in my head, and realize again & again… it’s family that keeps me here. Love & Family… and you know, the cake & dancing don’t hurt either.

Love you & your, Brian & Kaila! Thank you for letting me be a part of your family!

Heather - The B&W hugging pair with the wheelchair. {Heart melt!} Looks like a sweet group of folks and you captured their joy perfectly!

melanie - Your work is so wonderful.

Phil - Ah, I miss them, best family ever.

Janet Staub - Thank you Catherine and Phil for the gifts you brought to Kaila and Brian’s celebration. The feelings were mutual.
I was afraid that having professional photographers would feel stilted and awkward. I was so wrong! Not only have you helped us to remember the Brian and Kaila love-celebration forever, your presence there added to our joy. Much gratitude. Come stay with us on Whidbey anytime, really. You have my email!
