These are my friends Julie & Andy. They’re the best kind of friends to have, who are down to hang at any time, ready to dance at any given moment, will join us for karaoke at the drop of a hat, and are about the cutest couple to photograph in the whole wide world. These photos were taken when one day I noticed the new mural at KEXP, asked Julie if they could meet me for photos, and without even knowing what I had in mind, they showed up.
Literally as I’m typing this, Julie & Andy are at the airport, waiting to board the plane to Hawaii… they are leaving us here in Seattle to test the warm waters of that island, and they will be sorely missed. It makes sense, really; these two are pure sunshine, so moving somewhere where even the rain is warm seems like the most natural thing ever. However, until our next visit to that rock in the middle of the ocean, I will bid aloha to two of my favorite people in this small town of ours… and dream of dancing, singing, hugging & laughing together… here, there, and just about anywhere I can get them.
This is my first post of the new year, after a year that was challenging more than I knew I could handle, and rewarding more than I can even muster up the words to express… having friends like these make my past, present & future all one in the same, with no need to stress over the negative things that have happened or worry about what is to come. I wish for each of you, a new year full of friends such as this & enough insight to be thankful for them every day.
Aloha Oe… until we meet again.
