I am Catherine… a mother, a wife, a devout friend, a lover of life & people, a loyal advocate of good works, a light seeker, a sun searcher, a film-loving book nerd, a road-trippin’ fool, and a dog lover.  I have worked as a photographer for the past 17 years from Seattle to New York and almost everywhere in between, and have been a bona-fide business owner for the last 5 years.  I work closely with my husband Michael, who is my partner in every way possible and the design genius & level-headed support behind everything I do… and I often shoot alongside our daughter Madeline, who is a photographer in training and can meter a film shot like nobody’s business.

Together we are CALIMA.  weddings… portraits… lifelong memories.

My objective is to enter your lives and document it as it is now.  I’m not interested in matching outfits, contrived moments or having to sit still.  When you look at your photos together in the years to come, I don’t want you to say “wow, catherine was a great photographer.”  I want you to be able to say “look at us… look at this time in our lives,” and remember it just as you see it.  This is your life, and these are your memories, and I’m just here to make them tangible for you.  To make them something you can hold, and admire… to love and to share.
